Defining my Passion
I realized the other day the core structure of what I enjoy about pursuing an intellectual life. It collapses cleanly into three things.
Learning interesting things about how the world works, capturing them, articulating them, and documenting them.
Solving real-world problems using this organized knowledge.
Sharing and discussing with others both the models and how they can be used to affect change.
It’s a splendid cycle.
This is what I am doing already, and all potential future endeavors will be judged against these criteria.
It feels great to know, without question, what you want to be when you grow up.
