How to Configure Medical ID on your iPhone
If you’re ever found unconscious it’s helpful for those helping to know some information about you.
This used to be done with medical bracelets, but most people (especially people under 60) aren’t likely to wear one. Happily, there’s a technological substitute.
iPhones running iOS 8 can configure a virtual Medical ID that is displayable on your lock screen. Here are the steps:
Open the Health app on your phone.
Go to the Medical ID tab on the bottom.
Fill in your details.
Make it available on the lock screen.
Now people can get basic data about you, and call your emergency contact, in the event that you’re unable to help yourself.
