Hi,

My name is Daniel Miessler and I'm an AI / Cybersecurity researcher and founder based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. I've been building and writing online since 1999.

Right now I'm excited, but also worried, about humanity's future.

We've been trained for centuries to build our identities around work we don't really care about: our title, our place in a hierarchy, and our usefulness to someone else's company. And now AI is about to enable many (if not most) of those companies to bring most knowledge work in-house.

This will be extraordinarily disruptive, but it's also an opportunity because being a corporate drone never was a peak of human expierience. In fact we've been complaining about the soul-crushing nature of this work for decades. So many of us spend our lives dreading Monday and spending our best hours, days, and years in pointless meetings. It's no way to live, and it never has been.

I'm excited about AI's potential to give people a more meaningful alternative: one based on who they are, and what they are trying to achieve.

So that's what I do: I help people (and companies) articulate and pursue their Ideal State.

Some of my work includes LifeOS, which is Universal AI Harness designed to magnify your capabilities in life and work, Human 3.0, which is a platform for preparing people for Human future full of AI, Surface, which is my custom content system that rates internet content based on novelty and quality rather than source, and Vector, which is my platform for helping companies synchronize internally and pursue their goals using contextually-driven AI.
