Anticipation of greatness is a near guarantee of mediocrity.

It sucks to have to psyche yourself out, but it helps to do so if you want to avoid disappointment.

Don’t build up the movie. Don’t overthink the date. Let it happen naturally, and allow yourself to be surprised if things go wonderfully well and take it in stride if it doesn’t.
