The Concept of Open Allocation

When open allocation is in play, projects compete for engineers, and the result is better projects. When closed allocation is in force, engineers compete for projects, and the result is worse engineers.

This is an interesting alternative approach to running projects. I’m not sure how practical it is (I just haven’t thought about it that much), but definitely read the entire thing. Fascinating.
