I think I might have figured out, just in the last few weeks, what I want to do for a living.
But more than just for a living–as a life.
I want to be known for having great ideas, and I want to get paid to explain those ideas to people, and to talk to others who also have great ideas.
In the technology world this looks a lot like an analyst. Like a Gartner, or Forrester.
Specifically, I want to talk about long-term tech trends. I want to talk about IoT. I want to talk about AI. I want to talk about the future of economies.
I want to talk about the future of humanity within this technical world.
All of my ideas I’ve had, going back like 20 years now, they all seem to have this theme of how society is going to evolve, based on technology, and how that will interact with the human desire for happiness.
In an ideal world I’d be
- Writing books
- Talking to smart people
- Reading a shitload
- Talking to customers about their real-world problems and how they can solve them
- Talking to forward-thinking customers about how they can prepare themselves for the coming changes, and how they can win by being first
I want to consume, create, and communicate ideas. Professionally. At the highest level.
Security ideas. Human-technology interface ideas. Human happiness ideas.
This is what I want to do, and this is what I am going to do.
It’ll also be the content of my affirmations soon.
