  1. Testosterone does two things to men: 1) it makes them horny, and 2) it makes them more likely to take risks >.

  2. Famous people (politicians, athletes, etc.) tend to have high testosterone because getting to that position required significant competitiveness.

  3. As a result, famous people (Tiger Woods, Anthony Wiener, General Patraeus) are more likely to both pursue young women while married (horny), and then make major mistakes while doing so (risk takers).

So, be repulsed at this behavior if you wish, but don’t be surprised. Powerful men cheating is like snowmelt and flooding: it’s difficult to watch, but the phenomenon is without mystery.
