A Question for Obama Supporters

So I have a question for the Obama supporters out there.

Why did he support this trade deal, and rather than pitch it to us, just try to sneak it past?

Why?

I like a lot about Obama, and would even call myself a fan, but I’m not the kind of fan that’s blind to the flaws. What he did with this trade deal puts him in the light of the Fox News types. It makes him out to be a self-serving corporatist, just like the right claims he is.

That’s assuming that the deal really is as bad as people are saying it is. But I’ve not heard a single person supporting it (except Mr. Burns from The Simpsons) so I’m going to have to assume it is in fact that bad.

The gist seems to be pro-corporation, with special emphasis on sending thousands of jobs from America overseas. Why is that pro-corporation you ask? Because it saves them money. Basically, it’s corporate lobbying to screw America and raise their profits. Those are the Cliff’s Notes.

Now, the problem with that analysis is that I just made it up. I have no earthly idea what’s in that deal, and it’s sadly not even my fault. Nobody is telling us what’s in it. Especially not Obama, who seems to be a rabid supporter.

So, to the Obama supporters out there. And/or the supporters of this trade deal. I ask you, why is this a good thing? And if it’s so good then why didn’t it get marketed? Why was it kept so secret?

We’ve heard silence be deafening before, but in this case it’s sickening.
