The most common type of proxy is a web proxy that enables business users to access the Internet. This is to say that in such environments it’s not possible for users to surf the web unless their traffic traverses said proxy.
Explicit proxies are configured by explicitly defining proxy settings within a web browser. Figure 1 below shows such a configuration.
