One particular post from a thread on kind acts on Reddit:
So i’m in a bar, about to order a Guinness, and before i can release the words from my mouth the bartender comes up to me with a dark, rich, full glass of irish goodness, telling me it’s on the house. Before i can ask “how did you know,” she tells me “A regular pays me twenty dollars in advance every night to give a few random patrons a free Guinness. He said once that before he dies he would like to know he lived in a world where someone, somewhere, received a free beer, no strings attached, for no particular reason whatsoever.” Since then i’ve donated at least 100 USD in the past four months to the same cause. It doesn’t matter whether or not i’ve received a free beer since, because someone else has.
I want to do more of this in my life. I want several of these projects. And to have people subscribe to them. Participate in them. Fund them. Nurture them.
Random kindness is the best kind.
