    Urijah Faber is like everyone else on this list — *inhuman*. He simply needs to be tested against others with superpowers. Him destroying mortalfolk over in the WEC is becoming 1) unfair, and 2) uninteresting.

    He’s around 145, and could easily meet B.J. Penn at 155. Hell, B.J.’s so cool he’d probably go down to meet him. Alternate ending: he could also easily fight St. Pierre since St. Pierre is a 155 fighter as well.

  2. St. Pierre vs. Anderson Silva

    Ok, this is truly sick. Check it. Silva fights at 185. St. Pierre fights at 155. That’s thirty pounds. So they meet at 170. Silva drops 15; St. Pierre gains 15. This is possible, and it would be unGodly.

I grow tired of hearing Anderson Silva being called the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. It’s not that Anderson’s not a God — he clearly is — but they’re leaving someone out of the equation. They’re forgetting about Georges St. Pierre.

Silva just destroyed Irvin in one punch at 205, and there’s no doubt that he could dominate at that weight, but I think he’s right when he says his place is at 185. I think he should stay there at 185, and that St. Pierre should come up from 170 to meet him.

That is the fight I want to see — Silva vs. St. Pierre.

The winner of that contest would be the true pound-for-pound champion, and calling Silva by that title before he faces St. Pierre is premature.:

I ended up going with a Koral Blue Classic.

Koral is from Brazil, and from what I found during my reading it’s one of the best you can get. So I’m just about at the point now where I can start going to Jujitsu two or three times a week. I still have to do the allergy shot thing, however, as my allergy flare-ups mess with my stamina big time.

So yeah…Jujitsu. New gi + new Gracie-trained instructor (he’s an instructor in Gracie schools, not an instructor trained in a Gracie school) = exciting stuff.:

So I finally did it. I found a place to learn Jujutsu.

The school also has Muay Thai, which is a bonus since that’s my second favorite choice for martial arts to learn right now. And they’re taught one right after the other so I can do both in one night.

Win.

So yeah, I’m enthused. I had my first night last thursday and I’m still sore. My first impressions are that Muay Thai is so much more intuitive to me than Jujutsu with a gi. But I guess that makes sense.

Looking forward to continuing.

This guy is a Vietnamese former kickboxer fighting out of San Jose, CA (home). He’s seriously impressive. He’s got a sick range of attack techniques — punches, kicks, backfists, and extremely strong takedowns — including a scissor kick one (like in the movies).

The fighters I’m currently most excited about are:

  • Frank Shamrock
  • Fedor Emelianeko
  • Roger Huerta
  • George St. Pierre

…and now…Cung Le.
