He once ran with the Libertarian party, but it's difficult to be successful in a 3rd party, even one with the right ideas. He's been under Republican ticket for a while, and it's working for him.
Wow. Ron Paul seems to be more of a libertarian than a Republican. (that's a good thing)

I'll say it. We should NOT eliminate income tax. (Not that I disagree that our government spends FAR too much and often spends it on the wrong things.)
Ron Paul is the only politician I've hear ever say that the private control of money (Federal Reserve) should be removed. I assume he means that there should be democratic control of money, although I haven't heard him say that.
