Why I Left Del.icio.us

  • have you guys tried the new-ish del.icio.us bookmarks extension? http://del.icio.us/help/firefox/extensionnew - it synchronizes your del.icio.us bookmarks into firefox, which means you can search them from within firefox, so it's usually quite a bit faster than searches on the website. (we know the website can be super-slow sometimes...we're really working on that.)
  • del.icio.us for linkblogging - feedburner has a thingy that fakes a blog post every day with my latest links and sticks it in my feed. I'd rather have a script that pulled them into drupal and made a real blog post, but I've never found one for drupal (and del.icio.us's "thingies" don't work -iirc, because they're using an inccorect format for one of the fields)...

gBookmarks for my own bookmarks: there's a whole bunch of extensions to keep them in ynch with browser bookmarks (although I'm not using any of them lately)
  • I use foxmarks. It basically synchronizes my firefox bookmarks with the foxmarks server. In this way I can keep bookmarks at home, work and other machines in sync just by using the foxmarks extension. Works a wonder for me.
