VirtualBox: Run Compiz in a Virtual Machine

There are a number of software providers doing virtual machine software. VMware is the biggest, and then there’s Parallels and Virtual PC.

But there’s only one that offers 3D functionality within the virtual machine, and that’s VirtualBox.

  • The Compiz functionality is still pretty flaky, but it is a giant leap forward. I believe DirectX functionality is coming soon via Wine's implementation of it, which is pretty awesome.
