I’m tempted to call “sour grapes”, but it’s not entirely called for.

Palin did well against an exceedingly experienced opponent that makes the match-up look more like David and Goliath. Remember that one, the one where Goliath was supposed to win?

But, here, the voters and pundits have spoken. Still, CNN puts Biden ahead, if that means much.

    peace,

Pre-debate, one commentator noted: “Expectations for Palin are so low, that as long as she doesn’t puke on herself, she’ll be able to claim at least a tie.”

Seems like that was exactly the case here.

Palin gave a (well rehearsed) speech. There just happened to be a debate going on while she did it.

This was a Debate that could only hurt either side, but not really help. Both Biden and Palin could have blown it by looking bad. Neither did. Thus is was a tie. Actually, I give a slight nod to Palin, who needed to help patch the hole she made in McCain’s ship. She did so: She looked like she was able to debate intelligently and knowledgably, as opposed to her abysmal showing on Katie Couric (and SNL…)

You have to look at it as a game. Based on the sate of the game this week, they both made the necessary moves.

Yes, if Palin had debated better she would have possibly won a few people on over, but really, would that matter? She effectively stopped a really bad trend for McCain, at least until she goofs up again.
