In infamy, this man has become an hero to anti-Christians everywhere.

People kill people all the time over stupid stuff. Should we stop having sex because people often kill for sex? Should we abolish money since that is a frequent cause of murder?
Just because people sometimes, or even often kill for a particular reason, doesn't mean that we must abolish the matter at hand.

    Well put, Maxo.

The difference is that sex and money do not contain actual directions regarding what the creator of the universe likes and dislikes. In other words, when humans kill for those things it's not because they feel compelled to do so by an ideology.

But with religion, they feel they are being TOLD to do this on account of morality, per the creator of the Universe.

There's a big difference between those two. Most importantly, it's easy to spread an ideology and not a random emotion, which is precisely the problem.

But your logic is the same. You are saying because some people are crazy religious fanatics who will murder for religion, that all religious people are supporting a potentially dangerous system and should stop. That is as logically sound as saying some people are crazy sex fanatics who will murder for sex, so all sexually active people are supporting a potentially dangerous system that should stop.
Your example here is nothing more than circumstantial evidence that doesn't amount to any grand conclusion about religion or the people who believe in a higher power.

No, it's not the same. There are not tens of thousands of sex churches all over the country teaching that the creator of the universe likes or dislikes some set of behaviors.

That IS happening in real churches.

  • http://maxolasersquad.com/ Maxolasersquad

There are millions of churches out there teaching the love of God. This is what is really happening in churches. You see Christianity through the light that the most vocal (who also happen to be the most crazy) present it through. However in most churches the way of thinking you are seeing is not only not taught, but is taught against. The face of Christianity may be guys like the picture presented here, but the heart of Christianity looks completely different. There are far more Christian churches out there doing good than there are nut cases like this guy, or the people who support his way of thinking. Charity and hard work don't make front page news, murders do, and so the average person who doesn't go to church usually only sees people like this in the news, and the asshole jocks who wear their hatred on their sleeves. The vast majority of us are just living every day lives like everyone else.

“But in fact this man learned how to hate IN A CHURCH.”

That this man learned to hate while in a church DOES NOT mean that the church taught the man to hate.

People have had sex, for money in a church, but that does not mean the church taught prostitution.

Looked at even more broadly, he learned how to hate IN AMERICA. Why not demonize America? More ill is done here, for more various purposes and by more reasons than this one man, and his extremist ilk, could devise.

But, that could be part of the problem. Can you acknowledge that this man is an extremist, or is he by some skewed measure a common example of the product of Christianity?

I have to agree with Maxo on this one. Some people hear a dog bark and think it means to become killers. There are millions of dogs. Should we just destroy all dogs because other people could hear the same thing?

Crazy people are crazy people. They will find reason to act crazy. Just because they have a particular faith, race, creed, favorite food, dog, cat, house, car, hair color, sexual orientation, or any other thing you can think of does not mean that is what caused it.
