• I believe the requirements for the masters program may have changed per: http://www.sans.edu/programs/community.php

The following applies to students in the MSISE program who were admitted into the master's program ON OR AFTER September 15, 2008:

The student must pass the GIAC GSE. For details about the GSE, see http://www.giac.org/certifications/gse.php. To understand more about misconceptions surrounding the GSE and for tips on Preparing for the GSE, see www.sans.edu/programs/gse_prep.php.
  • Daniel, I would love to keep in touch with you as you prepare for the GSE, start documenting the steps people go through (stephen@sans.edu).

Sean, the GSE is not part of the SANS Master's program requirement for the engineer degree. www.sans.edu</p>

  • Sean

Have you done any research into Master's level programs that is more focused on technical/practical, similar to the GIAC GSE. Most I have seen are Information Assurance centering around the business portions (policies, disaster recovery, management, etc)
