But as I said in the post, success is pronounced "suck-sess", with the first c as a hard "k" sound. And that's the same way succinct is pronounced, evidently.

I think that k is a soft or silienced consonant. It’s like the way you pronounce the first t in “Wait Time”.

From dictionary.com:[suhk-singkt] I’m not sure where they get the g from. My wife and I had a disagreement on how to pronounce leisure. I said it [lezh-er], she insisted it was [leezh-er]. I said either where fine. Dictionary.com settled that one. At least I don’t say telly (for television.)
