i never really got into the “hangin’ out at starbucks” thing. i have one about a mile from here that i stop by perhaps 3x a week heading in to work, but i never really just “hung out” there. the main advantage for me would be having wifi available, but i have that at home and at work.

    what am i missing?

There’s a huge Starbucks down the street, and I’ve often lamented about the lack of free wifi. Two hours per visit? I’ll take it.

I don’t know if you ever went to All Saints, but that is more of the environment I like in a coffee house. More laid back and less “yuppie” feeling.

The thing I like about Denver is that you can have such an experience at some home-grown coffee places. :)

i was poking around under the house, trying to get the cat out, and i found a new starbucks.

honestly, i’ve done the hanging out thing. it’s good as long as they have a nice chair i can read in. i swear, it immediately draws a comparison to the opium dens of old.

one thing i learned from the experience, after a long night guarding an airfield from 11pm to 7am, a lonely, cold night which required the taking of nodoze or vivarin in those vicious hours just before sunrise, do not try to drink a double espresso latte without fear of rapid heart fluctuations and extreme sweat and unmanageable paranoia.

    oh lord. it was bad.
