Should You Be Embarassed If You’re Pregnant?

In Spanish you’re embarazada if you’re pregnant, which we know in English to have negative connotations associated with shame. I was told at some point in my Spanish studies that this stems from the Bible and the role of the woman in the original sin.
Remember that God cursed women to have to suffer the pain of child birth as a punishment for enticing Adam to eat the apple. It would make sense that showing the bulge of pregnancy would be an “embarassing” reminder of such a Holy curse. But again, I’m not sure this analysis is accurate. I don’t really see any support for it after a cursory glance at the definition.
