&lt;p&gt;It was actually nothing more than abject stupidity that caused the problem. The entire update to the latest profile (2005.0) went great, but after running &lt;code&gt;etc-update&lt;/code&gt; I borked some stuff up.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Just a flesh wound...nothing to see here...move along.&lt;/p&gt;
