This is bad-ass! Currently, it's difficult to do this — especially out and about with a not-so-smartphone (LG Chocolate, in my case)

I think it's going to require a client on the phone, unfortunately.

    hangs head in shame

It's sad, because I really don't need the ultra-mobile lifestyle. My current phone does all I genuinely need it to do. Back in the day, I had one of the first-ever WinMO phones (Audiovox Thera, a re-branded Toshiba Smart Phone) and it put a bitter taste in my mouth for smartphones. It sucked at being a PDA and at being a phone. About the only thing it was good for was web browsing and instant messaging over 1xRTT. It didn't even have Wi-Fi.

Things like this tempt me to return to SmartPhone turf, however. It's just not in the budget right now.

I would like to be able to call me Google number from one of my phones that I have setup in Google Voice and then use text-guessing to make outbound calls. This way I have my contacts with me on all my phones, and the number shows up on their phone as my Google Voice number.
