Obama’s Immigration Plan

“Under the administration’s plan, illegal immigrants who hope to gain legal status would have to register, pay fines and all taxes they owe, pass a criminal background check and learn English.”

That’s pretty hard to object to if you have even the slightest inclination toward legalization.

    Unacceptable as is. There are many people who have been following the system legally and they deserve a reasonable shake for following legal protocol. If you grant permanent resident status (green card) to illegal immigrants, then all legal immigrants must be sworn in as citizens the same day, regardless of where their petition for a green card or citizenship is in the abyss that is INS.
