I have many feelings about this:
I’m elated that he finally took this approach
I’m frustrated that he’s not done it before
I’m hopeful that he’ll keep it up.
I also find it hilarious that Obama has been criticized for only being a good speaker with a teleprompter. Here he is completely from the hip, and he simply pwns.
Thanks for the b-o-doubt, but I am quite competent @english even if it is not my first language as predicted.
However, I am not American, and like to think, I am schooled in the art of dispassinonately folloing the politics etc of the USA.
I asked, rhetorically, cos I wondered how that connects to the theme of this post.
Pushed, the your answer is NO.
But, by the very nature of presidential, demo(K)ractic system, all pre-elections, has to be / will be / remains promises. Not some contract ?
The existential realities of office - which changes randomly with the uncertainties of time - dictates that, things change.
The question of whether or not, his admnistration has redeemed his promises cannot be bound, I propose, to time. Of course, they have to be bound to his term but thats another matter.
Still, how does all that relate to the post?

In terms of American politics, promises are contracts, with implied, known, and accepted penalties and benefits.
I ask this of Daniel, and anyone else, to see if this one parlance somehow corrects everything else President Obama failed to do, or did wrong, or did despite his vow that he wouldn't.
From this glowing review, it seems like Mr Obama is farting neon rainbows that sing love songs in French.

ps: As a matter of curiosity, what nation do you hail from?
What has he failed to do that he ha promised? What has he done that he promised he wouldn't? If he has failed in a massive way to act according to his election rhetoric, what makes you ask if this makes up for it, when Daniel had not made the claim that it does? Your posts read more as trolls than as part of an honest debate.

I had a lengthy diatribe written out in response, but then it occurred to me that English might not be your first language, in which case it's my honor, my duty, and my pleasure to spread the love.
"6 a : to atone for : expiate <redeem an error> b (1) : to offset the bad effect of (2) : to make worthwhile"
So, with that done, and without any tangents exploring SEMANTICS, I should expect, from a simple question, a simple answer; Yes, or No.

ps: here's a silly piece of my original response, for entertainment purposes; "Redeem, you know, to tattoo Armenian epithets on the insides of prehistoric ducks."
