Microsoft Security: A Tenuous Argument

According to this article, the chief of security for Microsoft U.K. was infected with a trojan that modified his dial-up settings and pointed them to an extremely high-cost number. Now he owes roughly $1000.00 in phone bills and doesn’t want to pay it. I personally think they’re focusing too much on whether or not he should pay the bill and not enough on how a trojan got onto a computer belonging to Microsoft’s U.K. security chief.
Seriously, folks, stuff happens. It’s not like a single incident proves insecurity. The problem is that it’s kind of hard to claim that Microsoft operating systems are secure enough for average users when a Microsoft security chief can’t even handle it.
