McCain/Palin Supporters Dissected

one can feel that your speech comes from how you have been hurt by the truth denying assertions made by Bush, Palin etc, I understand that and I am against those assertions too.

Blame the leaders, but give a chance to the people that supported them to see that they were wrong not too hurtfully it is already difficult.

They were wrong, they lost, the whole world is celebrating that America is back at last.

It was hard for you but don’t be so hard on them because it is already difficult for them, it is better that they see their mistake with their own eyes.

now, to help everybody understand and see, I suggest that not only Mr Obama showed them they were wrong not to trust him.

To help everybody understand and see I would suggest Mr G.W Bush be prosecuted for having lied in order to throw his country in a war.

Then I think the people that voted for him in 2004, in spite of that, will have a chance to see that citizens have the power to choose their president, but that they should not give blank checks nor relinquish their power blindly because it could be put into bad hands and that they should exercize their power at the best of their abilities for the best of their country so as not be exposed to regret it afterwards.

I’m a Libertarian so I didn’t support McCain or Palin and I agree with you on most of your points. However, I’d disagree that Democrats sat silently by through this election with their hands in the lap when McCain’s name came up. In my travels I’ve never seen such rude, overwhelming negative and downright asshats as the Democrats. I’m in the midwest which is highly conservative and here you do get a couple jeers from the right but not to the extreme as I’ve been from the left. I’ve seen people pushed, sworn at and even given the finger just for wearing a McCain button. I’ve never been ashamed to be an American…but I’ve been ashamed at how biting the left can be. I congratulate Obama on his win and am proud of the nation for looking past race. It’s just so sad that we keep electing people because they are the lessor of two evils and not because we genuinely agree with their stance on issues. That’s why I voted 3rd party this year and for the first time in decades I feel good about the choice I made.

Sounds like a pure indictment on those who decided not to agree with you.

For the record, I voted for McCain, and still brought myself to overcome the revulsion and suck the nipples of a person who voted for Obama. They tasted…happy.

Peace unto you. Excorcise what demons you must. There is prejudice that needs to be confronted.

This is one of those posts that you should write. Then sit on for a few days. Then reread. Only then should you post it.

I thought that McCain’s speech itself was very good. I am looking forward to McCain returning to the person that he was before the election, and not the persona he wore to try and get elected.

This post really is beneath you. Today is a day to celebrate. Don’t let your anger ruin that.

I’m with the other people who chose to comment; There isn’t a bit of different between this post and what evangelicals said about Obama. I liked your blog much better when it was more technical in nature. I hope you’ll get back to your roots now that the election is over.

I hate to say this, but this trash spewing has just made me turn you off for good man. You can chalk it up to me being a sore looser if you wish, but I just can’t see listening to someone who admits hating those people he calls haters and thinks I am “shallow, vapid, hypocritical, evil, filthy”. I am glad you can be honest, but sometimes it is better to be honest with yourself than letting everyone else know. Observing an American election can sometimes be like watching Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum.

Daniel, you are a smart guy, but don’t get caught by the curse of knowledge. There may be some truth in what you say, but a friend once taught me that “you catch more flies with honey”.

Why should the world believe that Americans respect anyone else when apparently, they barely respect each other?

Daniel, it probably doesn’t need to be said after the previous commenters, but, as you said, f-ck it. This is probably the worst (quality-wise) post you have written since I started reading your blog almost two years ago. I can look past the hypocrisy pointed out by others. You have every right to feel the way yo do and to say the things you say, but if I find more posts like this, I really wouldn’t be able to handle keeping the subscription. I put up with the Pro-Obama stuff because I figured it will calm down in intensity as soon as he ends up winning. But I am not going to read a site where I am particularly insulted.

I don’t even disagree with you THAT much. Palin isn’t a necessarily great politician/representative of America but she isn’t evil either and she obviously has been chosen to represent a good sized section of the population. I was also embarrassed at the boo-ing at McCain’s concession, but comparing it to the silence at Obama’s reference to McCain is pretty off. They are completely different situations. Could you really tell me with a straight face that if McCain won, Obama fans wouldn’t be boo-ing? Hell, I imagine there would be riots, accusations of racism, and incredible (and possibly true) accusations of large-scale voter fraud.

But seriously Daniel, lay off the hate, tone down the emotion, embrace the rational, logical approach that initially attracted me here. I interpret this as built up emotion after a hugely intense election and you had to get it off your chest. I vote for more technical essays about the security world but I am interested in political discussions as well as long as there is some attempt at non-partisanship or at least analysis of facts, not emotions and exaggerations.

I’ve edited the post. Sorry for the emotion, guys. I don’t mind you guys being offended at my ideas, but that kind of directly negative commentary isn’t what I’m about.
