Google Talk Contact List Problems

For anyone having problems adding certain people to their Google Talk contact lists, I think I have a solution.

Simply make sure that the person you are trying to add has your Gmail account as the primary email address for you, and not another account.

Do this on both sides, then try to re-invite and add them again. It worked for me and should work for you as well.

I just want to take a moment to point out the real cause of the problem here. You might say, as you did, that the issue is with my not having your Gmail addy as primary in my contact list. One could say, alternatively, that the problem was due to your not using Gmail as your primary email. Ahem. :)
