Considering Using danielmiessler.com Instead of dmiessler.com

    I think the current dmiessler is a lot better. Long domains are a pain, and dmiessler is easy enough to sound out loud that it shouldn't be too confusing to tell people of your site.

    How about keep dmiessler.com, but also get danielmiessler.com and point it to dmiessler.com? That way you keep dmiessler.com as your main domain where everyone knows to find you, but you have the flexibility to switch to danielmiessler.com in the future if you really want to.

    I've already done that. :) The question is how soon, if ever, to actually make the transition. Good idea though. :)

    Or you could get psycho and have the long be the main with the short being a redirect to the long. The interwebs would implode.

    If you can be sure of bringing everyone with you then go with the change – it's a personal blog -'danielmiessler' immediately makes it so to the first time visitor – 'dmiessler' does not “scan” easily……IMO
