Well it seems I wasn’t completely looney when I was all on about something called “cognitive enhancement”. I called it “cognitive optimization” in my “Joy Of Tea” post, but the concept is the same.
According to this new article at New Scientist, there are things you can do to significantly enhance the performance of your brain.
In the vein of my friend Jason’s post on the topic, I wanted to summarize the article as well. Below is a paraphrased list of the things one can do to enhance their mental powers:
- Enhancement Drugs
- A Better Diet
- Taking Music Lessons
- Cybornetic Modification
- Applying Oneself
- Memory Excercises
- Getting Better Sleep
- Excercise
- Attention And Focus
- Sensory Feedback Excercises
- Certain Types Of Gaming
Ah yes, very cool stuff….very cool stuff indeed. Definitely go check out the full text of the article; it’s well worth the read:
