Get ready for a life changing experience. I ask you not only to learn the movements, but the philosophy of the art. This will take time, and I hope you continue beyond the “this is cool!” stage.

Remember, strength only works so long as you are stronger than you opponent.

I took Brazillian Jiu Jitsu for about a year and I absolutely loved it. The day I really took off was when I finally listened to what the teacher kept saying about stop wasting energy. In Jiu Jitsu you rarely have to force anything. There is usually a much easier way to overcome your opponent than brute force. I could wrestle for hours without breaking a sweat and putting people into submission. It also trancended in to my every day life. When I stood up I stood up in Jiu Jitsu form. When I opened a door I tried to find the point on the door that took the least effort to get it to open. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I am about to join up and start to learn Brazillian Ju Jitsu. I have searched around and done some research and have desided that this is the ones for me. I have found a place that appears to be quite good. I want to be pretty fit before I join up and was wondering if any one had any tips for me?
