Big Changes Afoot

So yeah…I’ve decided to scrap my old theme. Well, not so much the theme itself (not for sure, anyway) but definitely that implementation of it. It was a sorry kludge of a partial hack. The more I read about proper separation of formatting from content the more I hated what my site had become. My CSS file was becoming a sickening thing to look at, and it turns out the whole mess was the reason I couldn’t get WP-Cache to work.

It’s working now, and the site is über-fast. A nice start to a theme redesign.

So in the meantime things are going to look rather dull around here. Sorry about that. No ads. No links to my /study site. Pretty much just a plain blog for now. I’m looking for ideas on redesigns, so if you know of any badass designers let me know. I’d like to talk to them.

Oh, and if you see anything funky here that really irks you or that you think I might not be aware of, please let me know.

    It’s a lot less legible right now, you could darken the body text to fix it on LCD screens. I do like it, it’s better and more unified than the old theme. Keep up the great blogging, especially when it comes to calling people to resisting ID databases. I live in the Netherlands, where we are slowly going into a Europe that is a total police state. Political leaders turn conservative, secretive. Strange laws are introduced. The world is getting very scary, and America isn’t actually the premier runner-up in catching up to 1984, Europe is also in the race. I read your blog daily, I always do what you recommend to do but localized to my environment. I was demonstrating against Iraq when the war hadn’t even begun. And we, in the Netherlands, saw new mandatory ID-card carrying laws since then, now, a new biometric passport. We are already, since years, the most wiretapping country around. I am scared. I don’t know what to do but fight, weakly, with the means I have.

    Honestly? I just don’t like it. It’s really weird. I’ll grant you that it’s a lot faster than your old site, and you did need a theme change, but this is just… weird.
