American Deterioration: It’s Happening Faster Than I Thought
By Daniel Miessler on June 5th, 2008: Tagged as America | Culture

I’ve written a couple of times about how I think America is soon going to become highly unstable from a security perspective. I wrote that there would essentially be green zones around “nice” areas, and the rest of the country — especially urban areas — would have to fend for themselves.
Cops wouldn’t go to these red zones for the most part, because there aren’t enough police to handle the intense and accelerating decay of our society in the non-safe areas. Essentially, all the police, plus a new army of private security contractors (which is about to be big business by the way), would spend all their efforts protecting the middle and upper classes from the violent have-nots.
We’re becoming a third-world country with money. Pockets of wealth and culture surrounded by poverty, pain and violence.
I knew this was coming. I’ve known for a while. But this news is staggering. It’s already happening, and in the capital of our country of all places. I can’t believe this.

Congratulations. This is what political correctness has done for us. We’ve allowed Americans to fall so far from any recognizable standard of conduct that the only solution is to isolate them from the decent people. It’s sickening.
Those people we’re isolating…we, as a society, have failed them. We’ve failed them due to cowardice. They, as a group, are for all intents and purposes, children. You don’t isolate children and keep them from hurting adults, you change their behavior. You force behavior change if you have to, for their own benefit, as well as the benefit of the whole. Again, just like with kids.
But we’re unwilling to do that; we’re afraid of the PC implications. Because that would be wrong to tell someone how to live, right? Sure. And now we see what happens when you let poverty and ignorance fester because it would be wrong to say that certain ways of life lead to pain, and to remove the incentives for pursuing that course.
Meh. It’s infuriating. I’m working on an entire essay on this very topic, actually, so I’ll leave it at that.
Anyway, stay sharp; this kind of program is coming to a city near you. Prepare to be given “security zone” reports just like the weather in the morning.
Be sure to stay north of 4th Avenue. You don’t want to be anywhere near the Check Point. There have been some breaches from the red zone recently. If you see any run-down vehicles, be sure to call the security hotline and your friendly neighborhood corporate security will send someone to interrogate them.
Fuck me. Goodbye America.:
