&lt;p&gt;Back when The Wizard of Oz was made, I think that most adult viewers realized that the scarecrow botched the Pythagorean Theorem when he got his diploma (it was social commentary).  Now, most adult viewers don&#039;t even catch that (though they might feel something is somehow wrong).&lt;/p&gt;
