It was my understanding that Ron Paul was not planning on running for president if he did not get the Republican nomination.

Do you honestly think it matters who gets elected between Clinton/Obama and McCain? All of these candidates reflect the exact same nonsese in only slightly varying degrees. None of them will correct the Fed’s manipulation of our currency. None will end the tyranny of the federal income tax. None will end the barbaric “war against drugs”. None will reduce the size of the bloated federal government. None will bring ALL the troops home.

These are reasons why I will be writing in Ron Paul when I exercise my constitutional right to vote. You of course are free (for the moment) to make the decision that best suits you. Good luck in making a difficult choice.

I tend to agree with Ayn Rand on this question: “You should vote only so long as you think a candidate has more virtues than flaws. But if you regard both candidates as evil, do not choose a lesser evil.” I don’t believe Obama is “evil” in the malevolent sense (I believe he has good intentions), but I believe his policies are, in principle, evil, and I can’t give him my vote.

As for his Iraq policy, he will attempt a nearly complete withdraw in 1 1/2 years (assuming Congress doesn’t cut military funding before that time). Here are his other follow up plans:

    • Press Iraq’s Leaders to Reconcile
    • Regional Diplomacy
    • Humanitarian Initiative

The last will cost taxpayers $2 billion (again, assuming Congress approves it). The first two are intangible and unmeasurable.

I do not believe this is sufficient to balance Obama’s other policies. While I can’t stand McCain, and will not vote for him, I cannot in good conscience vote for Obama either. Why pretend to have free elections if we all know we’ll never get what we want?

You pose a very good question one that I have personally been wrestling with. I have decided to write Dr. Paul in for the following reason. We are in the mess that we are now because as Americans we have continued to vote for the Lesser Evil in each election. Dr. Paul did not get many of the votes that he should have because people felt that he could not win so it was a wasted vote. Not wanting to waste their vote they picked the candidate that was least offensive to them. This continued pattern of voting has only encouraged political candidates and the media to attempt to marginalize and discredit non main stream candidates early on to push you in one direction or another (trying to stop the “spoiler candidate”).

It is time that people stuck to their guns and voted for their conscious. We can only hope that if enough people begin to vote for change that future voters will be encouraged to do the same. You would be making an investment in future elections not this one. We have to make a stand eventually and it might as well be now. Obama is only a “lesser evil” candidate and is not the answer to the counties problems. It’s time that Americans make a stand and let those in power know that there are enough voters demanding change that we have to be recognized.

Most Americans are either to uninformed or are to afraid to make a stand and vote for change. You obviously are not uninformed. Are your afraid? Vote for the Best candidate not the candidates that have been forced down your throat.

No matter what you choose, make sure you still vote,
