A really cool post over at Overcoming Bias recently: evidently it’s pretty clear that primary points on a slide should have minimal “interesting” support. Adding too much negatively impacts, in a noticeable way, the degree to which your audience remembers your main point.
The way I’m groking this is to remember to keep supporting points “supporting”, and not let them be stories or tangents in any way. If they become so the audience will be left with the feeling (even if it’s subconscious) of:
Wow, that was cool…what were we talking about?
