As a recent Techcrunch article pointed out, videos are an über-powerful way to show off a product. Attempts to describe services to friends can go badly; you might forget an important piece or mix up the order. And pointing someone to documentation is a lot like giving someone work.
Videos do it right; they give the point in 2-3 minutes and the pitch is always the best version possible.
